2013 With twin brother, Bob, the Americans captured their 83rd team title at third Sydney crown (d. Mirnyi-Tecau)…They saved two match points in 1R win over Cabal-Matkowski…The duo won the Sydney title in 2009 and 2012, and were finalists in 2004, 2008 and 2011… Lifted their sixth Australian Open crown (d. Haase-Sijsling) and an all-time record 13th major doubles crown to break the record they shared with Newcombe-Roche…Dropped two sets in six matches en route to the title…Reached their ninth Australian Open doubles final in 10 years… On Davis Cup World Group 1R duty for United States, the pair were extended to 5 sets for first time in 23 doubles rubbers…Lost to Brazilians Melo/Soares 6-3 in fifth set to drop to 20-3 overall for United States in the competition…Fell in San Jose QFs (l. to Hewitt-Matosevic 10-7 in Match TB)… On 25 February, the duo won their 85th team title and third crown of the season at Memphis (d. Peya-Soares) and improved to 23-17 lifetime in ATP World Tour Masters 1000 finals…It was their 87th team trophy… On 19 May, they won their 24th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title and their third ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Rome crown (d. Full name is Michael Carl Bryan...Two minutes older than twin brother Bob...Parents, Wayne and Kathy, both teach tennis and they began teaching their sons at age two...Wayne is a lawyer, musician and tennis instructor who is involved in various ATP Kids’ Days and clinics on tour...Kathy (formerly Blake) was a former player on women’s circuit and she played at Wimbledon four times, reaching mixed doubles QF in 1965. During early days as a junior player, brothers forbidden to play each other in tournament play by his parents (if they were to play each other, they would alternate defaulting to each other)...Was No. 3 in U.S. Boys’ 18s in 1995 and No. 4 in ’96...Won well over 100 junior doubles titles, including US Open and U.S. National Boys’ 18s in 1996...Played at Stanford University from 1997-98 and helped team to NCAA team titles both years...In ‘98, won NCAA doubles (w/Bob) and team titles. Enjoys playing basketball...Has formed Bryan Brothers Band, with Bob on keyboards and Mike on drums...Provided music for ATP Doubles Revolution TV commercial and all original music for Tennis Channel program “No Strings” that they were profiled on...Have held concerts at tournaments around the world...Performed at 2010 Arthur Ashe Kid's Day at the US Open...In November 2006, featured among the twins in “Doubly Delicious” section of “Sexiest Man Alive” issue of People Magazine...They participate in an annual charity fund raiser for abused children at their club in Camarillo...In September 2012, the USTA presented the Bryans with the first US Open Sportsmanship Award…Voted ATPWorldTour.com Fans' Favorite Team from 2005-12 and ATP Doubles Team of Year in 2003, '05-07, '09-12...Coached by former ATP pro David Macpherson (since August 2005).
