Although the veteran serve and volleyer failed to finish in the top 10 in 1989 for the first time in three years, he ranked No. 13 on the ATP computer, compiling a 30-17 match record. He added his 12th career title at Washington, defeating Brad Gilbert in a rain-delayed final. |
