On 16 January, retired with a right knee injury in second set versus Querrey in Australian Open 2R; tore his lateral meniscus and locked his knee…On 22 May, pulled out of Roland Garros having failed to recover from right knee injury…

Started playing tennis at age two with his dad...Mother, Jackie, is a music teacher; father, Steve, is a lawyer…has two older siblings, who both played college tennis...Sister Kathryn and brother Art...As a junior, he reached 2003 Roland Garros final (l. to Wawrinka), was an Orange Bowl champion and ranked World No. 2...Graduated first in his class from Hillwood High School in Nashville, Tenn., in May, 2003…Recruited by Stanford, Florida, Georgia, Duke and Virginia…MVP on high school tennis team…Featured as Sports Illustrated Amateur Athlete of the Month…Came back from a possible career-ending surgery in 1999…Enjoys playing golf…Favourite place to visit is Destin, FL…Favourite tennis player is Pete Sampras and favorite professional athlete is Michael Jordan.
